STEMucated is a privately owned start-up company located in Atlanta, Georgia seeking to better prepare underserved high school/college students in BIPOC communities for STEM programs and jobs. The associated problems include issues of financing the company and increasing customer reach.
Recommendations include becoming a nonprofit which would allow STEMucated to seek tax deductible donations from individuals, foundations and corporations, so it will be easier to get investors and grants. It will also help STEMucated reach the most underserved populations. Another recommendation is to get a grant. A grant will pay the owner’s salary and get money for students who cannot afford STEMucated’s programs. Our final recommendation is to increase marketing by creating a strong website and making connections within the community to attract clients. Our recommendations would take time to implement, but they are inexpensive and low risk. Once implemented, STEMucated will gain a larger client base
