2nd Place in School - Spring 2020

University of Texas at Austin - McCombs School of Business

Problem:

The nonprofit New Farm Institute lost revenue when in-person programming was canceled (a drop of 80% in revenue).

Proposed solutions:

The team suggests a ‘Farm to Home Kit’ that mimics the value delivered by the in person experience in an at home setting.

  • The Farm to Home kit relieves parents, provides education, and educated children
  • This model is designed to be recession-proof and support the nonprofit through prolonged uncertainty
  • Estimated sales of 700 kits to their existing audiences make up the lost revenue from in-person events

The local and nonprofit aspect of this solution differentiates this solution and use some updated branding to make the Farm to Home Kit appealing and successful.
